Janis Kay James, 49, of LaPorte, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2007. She is preceded in death by parents, Luke and Charlotte Ward Randall, granddaughter, Melanie Laurent, dad, Gale Richardson. She is survived by her loving husband, Greg James; daughters, Amy Diane Steen, Emily Nicole Bordovsky and husband George; sons, Brandon Pape and wife Stephanie, Jared Laurent and wife Diana, Gregory James, Jr.; mother, Carrie Richardson; sisters, Frankie Randall and Carolyn Richardson; brothers, Tom Randall and wife Sandy, Elvin Richardson; grandchildren Killian McDonald, Keaton Davis, Taylor Pape, Lizeth Carrillo, Nathaniel Pape, Chloe Bordovsky, Alexia Laurent, Haley Pape, Nolan Bordovsky; brother-in-laws, Robbie and Cherie James, Scott and Rita James; mother and father-in-law, Alta and Robert James; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007 at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Grand View Funeral Chapel with Mr. Rene Valdez officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Haynie Flat Cemetery, Spicewood, Texas.
(Janis loved her family and friends and was the greatest "Memaw" in the world. She loved to celebrate the holidays, especially Christmas, and she found her greatest happiness in giving to others.
