Mary Louise Minor Pell, 86, passed away March 10, 2016 at her residence. Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Sunday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. Services will be 2pm Monday at Zion Hill Baptist Church with burial at Bethel Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Pell served during the Korean Conflict in the WAC and did her basic training at Fort Lee, VA. After basic training she was sent to William Beaumont Hospital in El Paso, Texas. While at Beaumont Hospital she took care of the babies. After serving at William Beaumont she was transferred to Camp Stoneman in California to serve in the base hospital. It was there that she finished her tour and was honorably discharged. Her rank at the time was Private 1st Class. While stationed at William Beaumont she met her husband, David Pell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Thompson and Mary Eva Robinson Minor; husband, Quitman David Pell, Sr., brother, William Minor; two sons, David Pell, Jr. and Leonard Allen Pell; great grandson, Sammie Walker and great granddaughter, Bryanna Westrope.

She is survived by daughters, Lisa Pell Franklin and Candy Pell Walker both of Wesson and Susan Pell Wallace of Brookhaven; sons, Robert Pell and Michael Pell both of Crystal Springs; brothers, Allen Minor and Leonard Minor both of Missouri; and 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
