Margaret Elizabeth "Megan" Branson died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at the age of fifteen years, nine months, and one day at her home in Saint James, Mo.

Her parents Melvin and Beth Branson and her beloved little brother Andrew, all of the home, survive her. Surviving grandparents are Don and Mary Carney of Rolla.

She was preceded in death by her infant sister June Carney Branson, by grandparents Melvin and Helen Branson Sr. of Saint James, and by her maternal grandmother Margaret Joan Lenox Carney of Lake Spring, Mo.

And as is often true of those who die so young, she is survived by—and was loved by—too many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, teachers, teammates and coaches to be listed here.

Megan was born in Rolla, Mo., on July 21, 1992, and has been a lifelong resident of Saint James.

Megan was active in her church, the Rolla Church of Christ, having attended since birth. She was baptized into the faith in July 2006 and remained faithful until death.

She participated in Leadership Training for Christ and served the church by helping in its nursery during services and with its Angel Food Ministry.

Megan was active with family and friends and loved to ride horses, camp, fish, bicycle, go bowling, cook, sing, listen to music, and watch movies.

Megan was active in sports, especially volleyball and softball.

And Megan was active in school. She attended the local public schools since kindergarten, loved working with her teachers, and participated in the chorus this year.

Many will miss Megan's willing hugs, ready smiles, and constant gratitude.

Visitation will be at the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 25. The funeral will be at the Rolla Church of Christ at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 26, followed by burial at the Lake Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations either to Little Prairie Bible Camp or to the Epilepsy Foundation of Saint Louis.

Blessed is the pure in heart
For she will see God.
