Sarah, one of the oldest settlers of the Big Bend Country died at Hartline.

She was born in Browning, MO., on 22 March 1866.

She married J.C. Higgenbotham. Was twenty years old when moved to Wheeling IA. Spent fifteen years of early wedded life in Browning.

From Kansas, in 1881 to Oregon for a year.

To Walla Walla for six years and then settled in Hartline in 1881.

Thirteen children born, seven survive, James Francis, Secta May Drinkard, Chewelah; Mary Elizabeth McCann, Coulee City; John Marshall, George Alfred, Thomas Russell, and Sarah M. Rogers, Hartline.

Leaves four brothers, Frank Browning, Marshall, OK; David Browning, Humphreys MO, Alfred Browning, Brackenridge Browning of Browning MO; sisters Mrs. Jennie Seeley, Jerome ID and Mrs. Nettie Coon, Tacoma, WA.
