Edward J. Gundlach was the son of August V. Gundlach. Edward died while serving in the military as a private in WW I. He served with the 130th Infantry Regiment, of the 33rd Division, of the American Expeditionary Force. He died the day after the war ended. Edward was buried in France. His body was brought home almost three years later - to be buried on July 3, 1921, in Mount Greenwood Cemetery in Chicago.
