Obituary 1) The Pilot, Blair, NE 23 May 1928

This community was saddened Friday afternoon to hear of the death of Mrs. Nels Sorenson at a hospital in Omaha earlier in the day. Her death was not entirely unexpected as she had been seriously ill following an operation a few days before. Mrs. Sorenson, formerly Olivia Johnson, was well known here, having spent her whole life here, and was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Nels Sorenson, her father, Ola Johnson, one brother, Harry Johnson, all of Kennard and one sister, Mrs. Amanda Sorenson, of Tekamah. Also three nieces. Funeral services were held at the Danish Lutheran Church in Kennard Sunday afternoon under the direction of Revs. Joseph Rasmussen and Knude Larsen. Interment was made in the Kennard Cemetery. We extend our deepest sympathy to the bereaved relatives in their loss.

A large concourse of friends attended the Mrs. Nels P. Sorensen funeral services Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the home and at the Lutheran church at 3 p.m., with Rev. Joseph Rasmussen of Lindsey, Nebr. officiating, assisted by Rev. K. Larsen, the pastor here. A profusion of beautiful flowers told of the love and esteem of friends and relatives for her who has gone from our midst and expressing unspoken sympathy to the grief-stricken husband and father and other relatives. After the services at the church interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.
