Bowie: Rossi Phillips, 73, lost her battle with cancer and went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at her home surrounded by love. 

Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness Church in Bowie, Texas, with Brother Donald Bishop officiating. 

Rossie was born December 21, 1939 in Gainesville, Texas to John Cecil and Alloise Migon (Kavanaugh) Bellah. She was devoted to her God, Jehovah and in her worship as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Rossie was never a stranger to anyone and when she met someone new, they became an instant friend. She loved her family and she was there for her family when they needed her. 

Rossie was united in marriage to Rayford Jerome Phillips on September 8, 1959 in Hazelhurst, Georgia and was married 53 years at his death on August 24, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Norma Hoyt. 

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Leanna Ivey and husband Tom of Bowie; two sons, Robert Phillips and wife Ruth of Wichita Falls and Roger Phillips and wife Kathy of Sunset; 7 grandchildren, Ray Ivey and wife Anetta, stationed at Wahiawa, Hawaii, Reah Ruffu and husband Caleb of Fort Worth, Jeremy Phillips of Dabach, Louisiana, Ryan and Kelli Phillips both of Duncan, Oklahoma; Julia White and husband Cory of Bowie, and Lydea Ivey of Bowie; five great-grandchildren, Journey Neice, Cade Phillips, Breana Ivey, Amaya Ivey and Rylen White; other family members and a host of friends. 

The family expresses their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Bowie Memorial Hospital, Bowie Home Health, Solaris Hospice and Texas Oncology in Wichita Falls for the wonderful care they provided Rossi during her long illness, and to Bowie Hospice Thrift for their words of encouragement and their thoughts and prayers.
