Bessie M. Chapman Forrester, 81, of Jeannette, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, in her home. She was born Feb. 29, 1920, in Renova, the daughter of the late Frank L. Chapman and Julia A. Saltsman Chapman Snyder.
Prior to retirement, she was employed by Jeannette District Memorial Hospital as a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Jeannette, and its Consistory.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Duncan Forrester Jr.; and two brothers, Frank and Bernard Chapman. She is survived by three daughters, Donna Shively of New Stanton, Joanne Popella of Greenwood, S.C., and LeeAnn Christie of Greensburg; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Grace United Church of Christ, 119 N. Second St., Jeannette, with the Rev. Robin Keating officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
