John Winston Hiett, aged 62, of Witts Springs, died at the home of his son in Bruno Thursday, Aug. 30. He was born Oct. 4, 1916, at Witts Springs, a son of John and Samantha Drewry Hiett. He was retired Arkansas Highway Department employee, a lifetime member of Disabled Veterans and a World War II veteran, a Mason and a member of the Royal Arch of King Solomon Council.
Survivors inclued his wife, Bernice Hodges Hiett, of the home, six sons, Mark Randel, Dwight Dean, and Terry Lee Hiett, all of Dardanelle; Randy Owne Hiett, Marshall; Danny Joe Hiett, Little Rock; and Charles Winston "Sonny" Hiett, Bruno; and six grandchildren.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, in Witts Springs Community Church with the Rev. Ray Cypert officiating. Burial was made in Witts Springs Cemetery under direction of North Arkansas Funeral Home of Marshall.
Pallbearers were James Chadwick, Jim Campbell, Drury Loftin, Wayne Loftin, Paul Loftin, Edgar Loftin.
