WILL M. KNIGHT DIES AT HOME IN GOLDEN
Pioneer of Western Illinois Was 84 Years Old at Time of Death.
Golden, Ill., Dec. 5. -- Will M. Knight[sic], a pioneer resident of western Illinois, died at his home here
Monday morning, after several weeks illness caused by old age.
Mr. Knight was born in Morgan county December 11, 1837, and lacked a week of being 84 years old.
He volunteered for service during the Civil War and served over three years with Company B of the old Fiftieth Illinois Infantry. He married Martha Poe immediately after his discharge from the army and farmed near Pea Ridge in Brown county until 1900, when he retired and moved to Golden with his wife, who survives him.
He was a member of the New Light Christian church of Pea Ridge and is survived by seven of his nine children, twenty-three grandchildren and five great grand-children. The children are L. H. and J. W. Knight of Schuyler county, Albert of Timewell, Arch of Golden, Mrs. Josephine Garner of Clayton, Mrs. Juston Garner of Shelbyville, Mo., and Mrs. Alta Sismore of Galesburg.
One sister, Mrs. May Farrell of Pea Ridge, lives.
