"Mrs. Martha Hadden passed away Tuesday afternoon at her home after a brief illness, at the age of eighty three years and six months. She was born in Mentz, Cayuga County, coming to Macedon with her husband in 1865, where she has since resided. A severe illness fourteen years ago left her in weakened physical condition and she has since lived a retired life, loved and respected by her neighbors for her many good qualities and cheerful disposition. For several weeks she has been failing and an attack of bronchitis hastened the end. She leaves one daughter, Mrs John Baker, a granddaughter and a grandson The funeral was held from her late home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. John MacGuidwin officiating. Interment in the village cemetery."
