He was born Monday, March 14, 1938 in Kittanning to William and Lydia (Crytzer) Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell worked at Babcock & Wilcox of Apollo until the facility closed. He then worked for Preston Trucking of West Middlesex and last worked at Leading Technologies of Parks Bend.
He was a veteran of the Army. He attended the Cochran Mills United Methodist Church in Burrell Township. He was instrumental in starting the Burrell Township Fire Company, where he was a charter member. He was a past president of the Armstrong County Fireman's Association. He enjoyed hunting, talking and spending time with his grand daughter Ashley.
Survivors include one son-in-law, Stephen Bundy of Ford City; one granddaughter, Ashley Bundy of Ford City; two brothers, Lewis Mitchell of Worthington and Kenneth Mitchell of Ford City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen K. (Johns) Mitchell, who died Feb. 5, 2004; one daughter, Amy Bundy; one brother, Thomas Mitchell; and one sister, Mary Davies.
