Deacon Jonathan Mansfield lived on the corner of Elm & Church in New Haven and had a pigpen on the northeast opposite corner of the New Haven Green. He was deacon of the First Church from 1751 to 1775, and took care of the communion plate and wine.
The tombstones of their son & wife, Moses Mansfield and Ann Mary (Kierstead) Mansfield and Hannah (Beach) Mansfield, the wife of their son, Stephen Mansfield are along the North Wall of the Grove Street Cemetery.

Deacon Jonathan Mansfield married (2) Abigail (Bishop) Dorman, daughter of James and Abigail (Bennet) Bishop and widow of Ebenezer Dorman of Hamden. Abigail & Ebenezer Dorman were the parents of Ezra Dorman, Hannah (Dorman) Alling, Lois (Dorman) Alling and Abigail (Dorman) Alling.
