Jesse J. Aguiar, Sr., 89, of Riverside, RI, died Monday at Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Helena (Arruda) Aguiar. The couple would have celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary this coming May.
Born in Tiverton, RI, a son of the late Frank and Mary (Pereira) Aguiar, he resided in Riverside for the past 55 years, previously living in Tiverton.
Mr. Aguiar worked as a truck driver for Gulf Oil Corporation for 34 years, retiring in 1976.
He leaves a legacy of love of family and enjoyment of life.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 5 - 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of choice.
