Bert Oscar "Doc" Evans of Sparta passed away December 25, 2016 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta.
He was born October 4, 1924 in Alleghany County to the late Emmitt and Cora Crouse Evans.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorine Talbert Evans; son-in-law, Monnie Pasley; daughter-in-law, Linda Jennings Evans; brothers, Robert Evans and Roy Evans; sisters, Hattie Evans, Hazel Estep and Lillie Atwood.
He served his country in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by a son, David Evans; daughter, Gloria Pasley; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery with full military rites conducted by Bruce Wayne Osborne VFW Post #7034.
