Doreen Faye Howey (Fodness), age 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 22, 2024 at a memory care facility in Surprise AZ.

She will be interned with her husband Larry Dean Howey, on May 20, 2024, 2:30 pm, at the National Veterans Cemetary in Phoenix, AZ.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the National Alzheimer's Association.

Doreen and her husband (Larry) dedicated their lives to teaching our younger generations. Doreen specialized in teaching reading to thousand of students in her lifetime.

Larry and Doreen loved to travel and taught school in Jasper, MN, Sioux City, IA, the island of Guam, Germany, El Paso TX, and the Brandon-Valley School District.

Doreen shared her life with her children, Tammy Howey-Bisgaard (Joshua) of Leathbridge, Canada, and Tom D. Howey, MD (Diane) of Brandon, SD and Prescott, AZ.

Grandchildren Brian Howey (Abby Larson) of Oakland, CA and Nicole Howey, DVM (Kyle Norman, DVM) of Prescott-Valley, AZ.

Her sister Annette St. Clair (Duke Ellens) of Chester, SD, her Brother Chuck Fodness (Allie) of Fountain Hills, AZ.

And many nieces, nephews and friends.

Doreen was preceded in death by her husband Larry and parents Andrew and Emma Fodness.
