Word was received in Missoula yesterday of the death of Dr. J. E. Ferte at Livingston. Dr. Ferte was formerly a resident of this city and is well known here. He was 78 years of age and his death followed a stroke of apoplexy, sustained last Sunday. He was the father of John Ferte, now of Spokane. There will be funeral services in Livingston Sunday, before the body is sent to Missoula. It will arrive in Northern Pacific train No. 3 and the local funeral arrangements will depend upon the time the train reaches the city.

The remains of Dr. Joseph E. Ferte, who died in Livingston on Friday, will arrive in Missoula over the Northern Pacific at noon today, and funeral services will be conducted at the Lucy chapel at 2:30 p.m. by the G. A. R. lodge. Burial will be made in St. Mary's cemetery.
