Lane Anthony Hein Jr., 44, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away in the early morning hours of July 4, 2023 surrounded by family following a very brief battle with heart failure.

In true Lane fashion he went out with a bang on 4th of July, and rather than with sorrow, he would appreciate his story told in real life humor- so here it goes…

Born April 5, 1979, and raised in Phoenix, Arizona he often spent his childhood days out playing with the boys (his brother and cousins) all day long in the summer sun stopping only to drink from neighborhood sprinklers and occasionally evading security from the nearby park still under construction via a thoughtfully designed escape route.

He graduated from Thunderbird High School in 1998- and promptly left the parking lot in a burnout. His favorite pastimes were driving way to fast and saying or doing ridiculous things just to make us smile. He loved fiercely and lived life in the fast lane without any fear. He loved exploring the great outdoors with a fast motor… he just had trouble keeping it on all 4 wheels. Lane was a collector of all things and left behind a hell of a lot of stuff! From an old sun-rotted spare monster truck tire to several vehicles missing essential parts and even garage full of vintage cardboard from the 90s.

A beloved husband, father, son, brother, cousin, and friend, he is preceded in death by his father Lane Anthony Hein Sr.,; his grandparents George & Clarice Hein, and Bobby & Georgia Marshall. He will be sorely missed by his beautiful family, wife Sarah Hein; 3 children; Brody Hein (12), Chris Hein (18), and Morgan Hein (19); brother Nathan Hein; sister Tiffany Lopez; and mother LaRaine Hein; as well as a large loving family of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and 399 best friends.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Thursday, July 13th at 10 AM full of love and laughter. A reception will immediately follow the brief service. Both will be held at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027. Please bring with you a favorite story to share- but only a few tears, because as Lane would say, "Don't be a sissy"!
