John Ashley Allen, 81, of Oak Hill, FL passed away on January 18th, 2024. He was born in Dallas, Texas to John and Patsy Allen. John met his loving wife, Virginia Montgomery, in 1967 in Atlanta, GA. Four months later, they began a marriage that would last 56 years.

John and Virginia built their forever home in Oak Hill, FL in 1976. He was an integral member of the community as a deacon, active member of First Baptist Church of Oak Hill, and as a City Commissioner of Oak Hill. John was an alumni of Florida Atlantic University. He taught middle and high school in Volusia and Seminole County for many years. He retired from Volusia Co. in 2006. John never met a stranger, only new friends. He had a heart for helping others and a passion for classic cars. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and his buddies from the East Coast Cruisers and Old Cranks Car Club.

John Allen is survived by his four daughters. Jennifer Allen Sorese (Serge) and Courtney Allen-Pavlak (Brian), Patti Richardson (Mark) and Barbie Allen Cumbess (Byran). He also is survived by his niece, Joni Tackett (Chris), six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Patsy, his sister Patricia Allen; first wife, Sherry Limoges; second wife, Virginia Allen; and niece, Teri Carver.

A graveside ceremony will be held on February 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Oak Hill, FL where John, his wife Virginia, and his parents will be interred. Refreshments and fellowship will follow at the First Baptist Church of Oak Hill, 192 E. Halifax Ave (Pastor Joel Kobosh).
