Effie Ella's mother, Margaret Jane Johnson Cluff, was the third wife of Moses Cluff. Effie was born June 6, 1878, the eighth child born to Margaret Jane and Moses. She had four sisters. Two brothers and one sister died before Effie was born. Effie Ella was born on the Cluff Ranch on the outskirts of Show Low, AZ.

It is assumed that Effie Ella also died at the Cluff Ranch since she was buried about a mile from there. The only reference found of her original burial place (before the headstone pictured here was put in the Show Low Cemetery) was found in the "Beginning of Show Low Ward Cemetery Records" compiled by Emma H. Adams.

The reason Effie Ella is listed on the headstone with Rebecca C. Scoular Langman is because they were living at the Cluff Ranch together and died just a few weeks apart. To learn more about how the headstone came to the Show Cemetery, see the note listed on the memorial for Rebecca C. Scoular Langman (#26480754).
