He is also survived by his wife of 27 years, Beulah Pansy (Jones) Whitener, Beckley, WV; his son Earl Alvin Whitener Jr., of Beckley, WV; his daughter Joyce Ann Parsons of Charleston, WV; three brother's, Cecil Whitener of Lenoir, NC; and Ralph V. Whitener of Springfield, VA; and Paul Whitener of Providence, RI; and a sister, Inez Nance of Hickory, WV;. Burial will be Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, Raleigh County, West Virginia
