JAMES W. GRANT TAKEN BY DEATH
James William Grant, a resident of 456 Stambaugh Ave. for the past 50 years, died at 3:25 a.m. today in Sharon General Hospital. He was 76.
Although he had been ill for the past six months Mr. Grant's death was unexpected. He was admitted to the hospital two hours prior to his death. A son of James W. and Rachel Kidd Grant, he was born in Sharpsville on Jan. 14, 1882.
He married the former Sara Lark on Dec. 25, 1907. They celebrated their 50th anniversary at Lauderdale, Fla., last Christmas Day. Mr. Grant was self-employed, owning and operating his own service station until his retirement in 1945.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and was a life member of Shenango Lodge 668, F and AM.
Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, Howard of Sharon, and Freeman of Philadelphia; a brother, Earl D. Grant, Sharpsville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
