Moses Conrad "Mose" Wright was born on May 21, 1917, to Moses Conrad Wright (1880-1921) and Elaine Abercrombie Wright(1891-1980) in Tuskegee, Macon County, Alabama. Mose was three years old when his father died and he was raised in Tuskegee by his mother who never remarried. After completing high school Mose spent three years in the US Army and, in 1941, he began employment with the US Government in the Civil Aeronautics Agency which later became the Federal Aviation Administration. He retired in 1970 from the FAA after 39 years service. He and his wife Rubie raised four children in Dixie County, FL: William Hiram Wright (1939-1961), James Campbell Wright (1942-), George Abercrombie Wright (1944-), & Mary Allison Wright (1946-).
