He was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Hull, Ill. He married Leona Bush in 1952, in Hannibal, Mo.
He had served in the Army.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Regina Akright; sons, Steven and James; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother, Alberta Akright, Hannibal; sisters, Eva Lou Yates and Sharon Loveless, both of Hannibal, and Mary McKay, of Virginia; and brothers, Richard, Donald and Gerald, all of Hannibal, and George, Hull, Ill.
