Davenport - Services for Charles E. Akright, of Davenport, will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
Mr. Akright died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at his home.
He was employed more than 20 years at Oscar Mayer, retiring in 1980.
He was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Hull, Ill. He married Leona Bush in 1952, in Hannibal, Mo.
He had served in the Army.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Regina Akright; sons, Steven and James; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother, Alberta Akright, Hannibal; sisters, Eva Lou Yates and Sharon Loveless, both of Hannibal, and Mary McKay, of Virginia; and brothers, Richard, Donald and Gerald, all of Hannibal, and George, Hull, Ill.
