Back Was Broken In Three Places - She Lingered In Great Agony For Week - Was No Hope Of Recovery
In the Miami-Inspiration Hospital at 7 o'clock Saturday night death ended the sufferings of Miss Viola Rowland, the young girl who was terribly injured in a wild auto ride on the Winkelman road a week ago. Her back was broken in three places and she lingered in great agony a week with no hope of her ultimate recovery. She was conscious when the end came, and her mother was at her bedside, where she had been practically night and day wince the girl was injured.
Viola Rowland was 17 years of age, and had lived in Miami for several years. She and her mother had been back from the coast only a few days when the accident occurred. Many friends here sympathize with Mr. and Mrs. Rowland in the loss of their only child
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the Miami Undertaking parlors Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. A. Lawrence, pastor of the Lower Miami Baptist church.
Interment will be made in the Globe cemetery following the service at the chapel. Friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. Cars will be furnished by the Miami Undertakiing company at the close of the service for those who desire to attend the burial service at the grave.
