"DEATH COMES TO RURAL RESIDENT - Frederick Aeschliman passed away early Monday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wesley Carlisle of R. F. D. No. 4, following a four weeks illness. He was 73 years old. Mr. Aeschliman was born in Switzerland, March 18, 1860 and came to the United States at the age of 27, locating at Elk Rapids. A year later his bride to be Miss Rosina Smith came from Switzerland and the couple was married at Elk Rapids. Mrs. Aeschliman passed away six years ago and for the past two years Mr. Aeschliman had resided at the Carlisle home.

Surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. Frank Weathers and Mrs. Lee Lake of this City and three sons, John of Traverse City, Fred of Montana and Carl of Fife Lake, besides two sisters, Mrs. Frank Messer of Elk Rapids, and Mrs. Amil Kaiser of Detroit, 29 grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren. One son Ernest died in infancy. Short prayer services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 from the Hibbard funeral chapel, followed by funeral services at 2:30 at the German Lutheran church in Elk Rapids. Burial will be made in the Elk Rapids cemetery." -- Traverse City Record Eagle.
