MOURNS DEATH OF DR. PRUNER

The sad news of the sudden death at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday of Dr. W. H. Pruner of Omaha at the Lord Lister hospital was received at Kennard about noon that day. He suffered a stroke Tuesday night from which he did not regain consciousness. He had been ailing for about a week but had been seriously ill but a few hours.

Dr. Pruner was born in Virginia, coming to Kennard with his parents as a young boy. He graduated from the Kennard high school with the class of 1902, then attended the Creighton Medical school from which he graduated. Since that time he has been a prominent surgeon in Omaha and was a member of the John S. Bowen lodge, A. F. & A. M. of Kennard.

He is survived by his bereaved wife; a son, William Jr. and a daughter, Miss Mary Elizabeth; his mother, Mrs. Ella Sue Pruner of Cortez, Colorado; three brothers, Dr. A. C. Pruner of Omaha; O. S. and Gifford H. of Cortez, Colo.; and Mrs. Opie Harrison of Cortez, Colo.; and Mrs. Cleo Anderson of Lincoln besides a number of friends and nephews and scores of friends and acquaintances in Kennard and in Omaha.

Dr. W. H. Pruner died at Lord Lister hospital in Omaha at 4:15 o’clock Wednesday morning of a hemorrhage. He suffered a stroke Tuesday night and did not recover consciousness before he died. The deceased was born in Virginia and came with his parents to Kennard when he was a youth and was reared in Washington county. He was married to Elizabeth Newkirk about twenty-one years ago and to this union two children were born. He was a graduate of the Creighton medical school and for many years was an outstanding physician and surgeon of Omaha. Surviving him are his bereaved wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Pruner, a son, William H. Pruner, jr., and a daughter Mary Elizabeth, all of Omaha. Three brothers and three sisters also survive him. Funeral arrangements has not been made.
