Mrs. Evelyn Evola Hintson Smith, age 84 of Cookson, formally of Demorest, Ga., went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2009 following a brief illness. Mrs. Smith was born in Birmingham, Ala. on Dec. 25, 1924 to the late Leonard C. and Marguerite Hopkins Hintson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Harold Thomas Smith; a granddaughter, Deborah Wilt; a great-grandson, Kevin Reed; and a brother Curtis Hintson. She was retired from the U. S. Envelope Company in Doraville, Ga. and was a member of the Cookson Baptist Church in Cookson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Cookson Baptist Church with a private burial to follow in the Cookson Cemetery.
