Kennard Farmer Died Suddenly
55 Year-Old Farmer Buried Thursday at Kennard
Elmer Miller, a native of this community, died at his home near Kennard on last Monday after a short illness. Deceased was born at Kennard January 30th 1886, and was thus past fifty-five years of age at his death.
All his life had been spent in the vicinity of Kennard where he had followed farming as an avocation. On March 3rd. 1908 he was married to Elsie Jahnel and to them three children were born. Leonard of Sioux City, Marvin at home and Mrs. LeRoy McCann of Fort Calhoun. These with the wife survive. Besides these he also leaves a grandson, his mother and one sister to grieve his parting.
He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Kennard and was in high standing, not only with the order, but with the community at large.
Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at 2 o'clock from the Kennard Methodist Church and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery under the supervision of J. E. Campbell, mortician. The funeral ceremonies were in charge of the Masonic order.

Lifetime Resident Of Kennard Died Monday; Services Today
Ill almost two weeks with heart trouble, Elmer Miller, 55, lifetime resident of Kennard and vicinity, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at his home.
Funeral services are being held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Kennard Methodist church, the Rev. E. P. Booher of Cedar-Bluffs and the Rev. David Simpson of Arlington officiating. Interment will follow in Kennard cemetery. The Campbell mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Miller, son of Nels and Christina Miller, was born at Kennard January 30, 1886. He and Elsie Jahnel were married March 3, 1908.
Surviving him are his wife, Elsie; two sons, Leonard Miller of Sioux City and Marvin Miller at home; one daughter, Mrs. LeRoy McCann of Fort Calhoun; and his mother, Mrs. Christina Miller of Kennard. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Morris Andersen of Kennard, and a grandson, Robert Elmer Miller.
Preceding Mr. Miller in death were his father, who died in 1898, and his brother, Dr. Leonard Miller, whose death occurred about 1910.
