Mrs. Joseph Konvalin, 40 Commits Suicide Tuesday Morning
Funeral Services Will Be Saturday
Husband Finds Wife's Body in Woodshed After Noticing Her Prolonged Absence; She Had Just Recently Returned from Hospital
Believed to have been despondent because she had been a semi-invalid for some time, Mrs. Joseph Konvalin, 40, of Kennard, hanged herself on the Konvalin farm early Tuesday morning. The body was found in the woodshed by her husband at 6 a.m., when he investigated after noting her prolonged absence from the house.
Mrs. Konvalin had been in ill health for some time and only last Thursday had returned from an Omaha hospital. Mrs. Konvalin is well-known in this county. Before her marriage, she was Miss Opie Burgess, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Burgess. Her father was a stock buyer.
Native of Kennard
Mrs. Konvalin was born at Kennard April 8, 1896, and had spent her entire life in that vicinity. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Teddy, 9, and John Joseph, 3; two brothers, John and William P. Burgess of Omaha; and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Horn of Pueblo, Colorado, and Mrs. Edgar Fairchild of Kennard.
The body was brought to the Campbell Mortuary in Blair after Sheriff Marion Sutherland had investigated.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Kennard Methodist Church, the Rev. E. P. Booher, pastor, in charge.
