Jerry Wayne Baird, age 34, died Monday, May 7 at Houston Community Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 9 at First United Methodist Church. Burial was in Houston Cemetery with Rev. Grady Bailey and Rev. John Bowie officiating.

The son of Evans E Baird and Hilda Thompson Baird, he was an employee of E E Baird Machine Shop. He was a lifelong resident of Chickasaw County and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Jo Langley Baird of Houston; one daughter, Jennifer Jo Baird of the home; one son, Cecil Wayne Baird of the home; his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Evans E Baird of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Webster of Houston and Mrs. Barbara Jo McCluskey of Mantee; two brothers, Douglas Baird and Bobby Baird, both of Houston and his grandmothers, Mrs. Mamie Baird and Mrs. Ella Coila Thompson, both of Houston.

Pallbearers were Curtis Darby, Ronnie Mooneyham, Rickey Huffman, Bobby Sanderson, Wallace Norman, Jr and Kenneth Funderburk.

Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
