Elaine Marie Hammje was born in Newton township of Ottertail county, Minnesota on August 1938 the daughter of Herman and Edna (Blom) Hammje. She grew up near Rush Lake, attending country school there and then attending school in New York Mills, graduating in 1957. She was married on June 27, 1957 to Leslie Mischke at Ft. Ord in California where Leslie was stationed. They later lived in Seaside, CA for two years and then moved to Lake County, Illinois. They retired in 1993 and moved to Detroit Lakes, MN where she lived until her Death on Thursday March 27. A woman of good humor, Elaine was an excellent baker and cook. She took special interest and joy in her flowers.
