Lloyd Gene Kirkland passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the age of 84 years.

Lloyd is the son of Troy H. Kirkland & Mildred I. (Wood) Kirkland, born on April 6, 1939, in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Holdenville. He loved travel and joined the Air Force, serving for thirteen years before returning home and starting his family. He worked in the oilfield for thirty years, then bought a truck and drove cross-country for several years. Some of his favorite things were fishing, gardening, and fixing small engines. He loved naps, watching movies (especially westerns), and spending time with his family.

He is survived by four children: Scott Kirkland (Stacy) of Chickasha, Lori Kirland-Haul (Bob) of Ada, Julie Mollinger (Randy) of Purcell, and Troy Kirkland (Shelly) of Lindsey; brother William Dale Kirkland (Barbara), and sister Diane Anderson (Roy); twelve grandchildren: Paul Goforth, Jennifer Goforth, Faith Jackson, Christopher Cain, Jeremy Cain, Tiffany Cain, Rayn Cain, Skylor Cain, Brandon Kirkland, Debra Kirkland, Ashton Kirkland, and Todd Kirkland; nieces and nephews, other family members and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy & Mildred Kirkland; three brothers: Bobby Kirkland, Troy Kirkland, and Wendell Kirkland; four sisters: Joyce Kirkland, Delores Kirkland, Norma Kirkland, and June Kirkland.

Graveside memorial services will be held and Lloyd will be laid to rest with military honors on Friday, February 16, 2024, 10:30am at Oak Hill Cemetery in Yeager, with Rev. Kevin Fisher officiating.
