Leroy Campbell Billingsley
September 1, 1935 - June 14, 2023
Aged 87, passed away on June 14, 2023, in Milwaukee, WI. Leroy was born on September 1, 1935, in Ardmore, OK, and grew up there with his sister Mary Gayle. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as an architect, working in California, Arizona, and Texas. One of his proudest works was a church in Sunnyvale, California. While working for the City of Dallas as an architect, he helped design the SPCA center. He worked in real estate all over the city, notably a multifamily property in Old East Dallas. While in Dallas, he married and started a family with Citra Rajan. Three children came of their union- Christina, Elliot, and Danny - who survive him today.
Leroy had a passion for gardening, stockpicking, inventing things, architecture, and was a worshiper in the Catholic Church. He was close to friends and family, regularly spending time with them over a cup of coffee to solve the world's problems.
The family hosted a celebration of life at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Ardmore, Oklahoma, where he is buried near his mother Emma Gene and father Homer Billingsley.
