William Devereaux (1844 - 1918) and Serena Webb (1845 - 1904) were married in 1868 at Shiloh Church in VanCleave.
They had four sons and three daughters:
George Luther
Johnny (1868 - 1949) m. Smith.
Charley (1884 - 1909) m. Scarbrough
Peter (1874 - 1961) m. Mallette
Sara m. Van Landrum.
Margaret (1877 - 1916) m. Post.
Magdalene (1879 - 1902) m. Bellois
William Devereaux farmed, raised livestock and burned charcoal that was loaded
into schooners in the West Pascagoula River and sold in New Orleans. He was
charter member of New Prospect Campground Meeting Place, served in the first
charter for the VanCleave School, around 1880.
William and Serena Devereaux are buried in Shiloh Cemetery on Humphrey Road in VanCleave.
