Claude Junior Workman

January 7, 1949  -  February 11, 2024

Claude Junior Workman, 75, of Lost Creek, departed from this world on Sunday, February 11, 2024. He passed in the comfort of his home and surrounded by loving family.

Born in Cleveland, OH, on January 7, 1949, Claude was the only son of the late Oley Workman and Nola Barker Workman. In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by two sisters: Phyllis Ann Workman and Juanita Kesner.

Claude made his way in life with determination, love for his family, and an unyielding work ethic. He was a devoted husband to Della Alexise Moser Workman, whom he married on June 21, 1981, sharing in a journey of love, respect, and companionship for over 42 years.

Claude had a fulfilling career with the Harrison County Department of Highways, serving as a heavy equipment operator for 27 years. His work was an embodiment of his meticulous nature and unwavering commitment to his community. Claude enjoyed farming and Della's biscuits and Gravy. However, what brought him the most joy was spending quality time with his grandchildren. As the saying goes, "A grandparent is a little bit parent, a little bit teacher, and a little bit best friend." That was Claude, a doting grandfather, always eager to share wisdom, laughter, and love. His friendships were held dear, with Richard Mullins and Rusty Snobbs being his favored companions on the pool table.

He will be forever remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his zest for life. Claude is survived by his wife, Della Workman of Lost Creek; two children: Jason Workman and wife, Taylor of Lost Creek, and Ashley Workman of Jane Lew; four grandchildren: Hunter and Jenna Baldwin, and Madeline and Maverick Workman; two sisters: Mary Page of Akron, OH, and Helen Stout of Kincheloe; and several nieces and nephews.

Claude's request for Cremation has been honored at Pat Boyle Funeral Home's On-Site Crematory. A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
