James Levi and Mary Jane (Wooten) Ferguson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 1, 1920. The dress that Mary Jane wore was made by my Grandmother, Mary Eliza (Ferguson) Davis. James and Mary Jane are my GGrandparents.

His monument has this inscription: "He served as stewart and Sunday School Superintendent of the Methodist Church of Vardaman, Mississippi for more than thirty years and friends in his church requested permission to purchase his monument. His father was killed in the War between the States and he became the mainstay for his mother and three younger brothers and two sisters.

James Levi's father, Henry Ferguson was killed at the Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864.
