Married Harold Charles Harbaugh November 22, 1947 Laramie, Wyoming

In this lifetime I was born February 9, 1926, to Gertrude Aldridge Daugherty and Harry Augustus Daugherty in Quinton, OK. Daddy died at age 35 so mother was on her own in Oklahoma City during the depression. My sister Harriet and I never realized her quiet struggling because we were busy being happy children. Mother married Barton Dickerson Norriss in 1940 and we now had a sweetheart of a daddy. We lived in Enid, OK and then moved to Wichita Falls, TX. Life held so many wonderful experiences. After my freshman year at TSCW, I went to the University of Wyoming, graduating in 1948. It was there that I met my husband of 58 years Harold Charles (Chuck) Harbaugh. We lived in Wichita Falls for 16 years where both of us were active in social and charitable groups. Among my favorites were the projects and friendships with my Kappa Kappa Gamma sisters which have lasted a lifetime. Also my time in the Junior League satisfied my need to feel useful with over-the-top learning and volunteering opportunities, Next came Chuck's business, which took us to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for 11 years. Our children and their college friends especially loved the land of fun and sun, as did Chuck and I. In 1975 we moved from Fort Lauderdale to Dallas because all of our four children ended up here after their college graduations. There was lots of traveling and fun as the kids became adults with families of their own. In that first year in Dallas I became Manager of a start-up company called Crandale Galleries in the Dallas Decorative Center, which I thoroughly enjoyed for 25 years. My interest in metaphysics was always paramount in my life. I was blessed to find Christian Science at an early age, and to go to class. Now I would like to formally thank God and record my appreciation for many blessings. Since life is eternal, I feel sure I'll be back again to learn more until I understand everything as Jesus did. So I have many thanks. Mother was a treasure: loving, fun and thought I could do anything. My husband was absolutely made for me in so many ways. It was love at first sight and grew through all of life's bedlam. We both loved to dance and travel, and Chuck totally surprised us all by taking over as the family chef when the kids were old enough to eat interesting food. And speaking of bedlam-Thank You God especially for the challenges of 4 children who brought us the kind of love which is unimaginable until you know it firsthand. Our daughter Brooke returned to YOU early and we still need help understanding that. But a few things I do know for sure. Number 1: we are all the children of the all-powerful loving God who is with us at all times and is constantly showing us His love. Number 2: another of my biggest blessings was being born in America. So please, pretty please God let me be an American next time too. Surviving cherished immediate family members in the Dallas area are April and Cash Harbaugh and Finley and Eric Konrade, Jill Goss and Amy and Austin Goss, Quinton Goss and children Brendan, Hattie and Luca Goss, Brighton and Chad Sawa and children Blaise and Skye. In Charlotte, Jan and Bob McGrath and Megan McGrath and Remy Saffar, Emily and Patrick McGrath and children Taylor, Jack and Wells. As well as family and fun friends everywhere. Jo transitioned peacefully on February 4, 2024. She felt that since she was of considerable age and nothing unexpected was happening, no sadness or formal ceremony was needed to alert the heavens that she is on her way back.
