She was born in Liberty Township to William and Emma (Fischer) Weitz. On Nov. 25, 1937, she married Edward Deitsch, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Edward, Celina; two sisters, Christiana Deitsch, Rockford, and Magdalene Weitz, Celina; a stepson-in-law, Eugene Hirschfeld, Celina; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Deceased are two brothers, Paul and Elmer Weitz; and a stepdaughter, Patricia Hirschfeld.
She worked at Mercer County Library in Celina for 38 years and was known as the "Story Hour Lady". She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church Hopewell of Celina, was involved in the Senior Citizens Craft Club, Celina Garden Club, and the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. She was a 1931 graduate of Celina High School.
Services are at St. John's Lutheran Church Hopewell, Celina, the Rev. Debra Domeier officiating.
