Bush Advocate, 7 July 1891
Danevirke School Committee
We draw attention to an application made by Mr G. W. Conrad, for a certificate to the effect that his son John passed a certain standard in the Danevirke public school and in referring the matter to the Head Teacher and also to the Clerk of the Education Board, we were told no record was available. This being a matter of great importance should be enquired into, as any young ma applying for a situation in the public service, is required to produce his standard pass. We believe Master Conrad attended the Danevirke school in the years 1885-6 and 1887

August 1891 At the Dannevirke police Court a prohibition order was made against Mary Conrad. The order was applied for by her husband, his evidence disclosed a distressing state of affairs thorough her indulgence in drink

In 1893 George was a Bushman, living in Dannevirke
Bush Advocate, 16 Dec 1893 Mr T. Bates has presented an armchair to be competed for in the Old Men's Race(he was 59) at the sports on Boxing Day. Mr G. W. Conrad, a previous winner, will not be eligible to compete.
