A well known Quaker Missionary. David and his brother Jesse married Burling sisters (Gracce and Phoebe) both daughters of Edward Burling. They removed to Vermont where Edward had a land grant, and farmed there during the early to late 1700's which included the time of the Rev. War. They donated cattle and produce to the Patriot Army according to a procurement officer's log. The Quakers of the region east of the Fort Ticonderoga were severly persecuted by the British and by the end of the war, many of the farms had been burned, destroyed, famlies scattered and men incarcerated on ships in the waterway. Many of their descendants live in Western Vermont. David and Grace had the following children:
Edward (1765-1845)
Burling (1772- )
David (1774- )
Grace (1775- )
Dinah (1778- )
Richard (1780-1855) m. Anna Tucker of NY at Queensbury in the Meeting house her father built.
