Nadine Mercer Pressley, 90, of Gastonia passed away February 1, 2024. She was born May 17, 1933, in Gaston County, NC, a daughter of the late William Walton Mercer and Alice Moseley Mercer.
Nadine attended Clover High School, dedicating the early years of her life to work before becoming a devoted homemaker. Throughout 72 years of marriage, she proved to be an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her passions included cooking, traveling, and reading whenever she could. One of her most admirable qualities was her unwavering encouragement, coupled with a deep involvement in her church and a close relationship with her Savior. She blessed everyone she came in contact with and will be greatly missed!
Nadine is survived by her daughter, Iris Pack and husband Tim of Gastonia, NC; brother, Bill Mercer; grandchildren, Timmy Pack and wife, Amber of Clover, SC, and Hunter Pack and wife Carrie of Lincolnton, NC; great-grandchildren, Asher Pack and Brooks Pack; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Glen Pressley; infant daughter, Starr Pressley; and siblings, Mabel Pittman, Rev. Foy Mercer, Ernest Mercer, Lorene Stamey, and Dottie Benoy.
The family will receive friends at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors with son-in-law, Pastor Tim Pack officiating. Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
