Emily Ann (Paprotske) Bishop, age 78, of Charleston, IL formerly of Toledo, IL and Paris, IL passed away at 10:07 a.m. on March 2, 2023 at her residence. She was born October 23, 1944 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Edward and Phyllis (Coger) Paprotske. On March 2, 1973, a love story began as she married Larry Gene Bishop, Sr. in Pekin, IL; he sadly passed away on March 8, 2016. As love stories often have happy endings, Emily's passing occurred on the couples 50th Wedding Anniversary and their family finds peace knowing they were celebrating it together in heaven.

Emily was a 1962 graduate of Scottland High School. She was a retired Purchasing Officer in the business office at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. Emily was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Greenup, IL. She enjoyed camping, thrift shopping, traveling, and spending time with the grandkids and her dog, Prissy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; beloved stepdaughter, Tonya K. Mayo and great granddaughter, Haley Nicole Mayo; step-grandsons, Jimmy Bishop, Jr. and Derrick E. Bishop; and siblings, Nancy Waltz, Phyllis Landis, and Steve Lavanway.

At her request cremation rites were accorded.
