Jo Brent Strader Elmore, 71, Glasgow, passed away suddenly Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the T J Samson Community Hospital. Born in Hiseville, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Georgia Brent Wells Strader.
Jo Brent was a graduate of Hiseville High School who in recent years worked as bookkeeper for Elmore Realty & Auction. She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church. She enjoyed horseback riding, playing golf, and cooking. Her greatest emphasis in life was her family; she loved being the wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Survivors include her husband John Ray Elmore; children: Daniel Johnson (Amy), Rhonda Townsend (Dr. Charles), Michael Ray Elmore (Lisa), and Mark Richard Elmore (Jean); grandchildren: Dakota Elmore (Mandy), Ashton Mattingly (Jared), Morgan Geiger (Wick), Owen Margaret Kruse (Augie), Oliver Townsend, Micha Thomas (Jake), Olivia Johnson, Addison Johnson, Mason Johnson, Byron Reynolds, Chloe Johnson, and Griffin Reynolds; her sister Anne Bruce Botts (Carlton); her three nephews: John Botts, Jimmy Botts, and Jeff Botts; along with several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son Michael Bradley Johnson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hiseville Cemetery.
