Bertha Avon Shipman Harraman was born the daughter of Leroy Herman Shipman and Norma Ruth Eubanks Shipman on November 1, 1942, in Derby, Kansas, and went home to the Lord on January 31, 2024.

Bertha grew up in Guthrie, Oklahoma and graduated from Guthrie High School in 1960. She married the love of her life, Eugene Harraman, on October 7, 1961 in the Guthrie First United Presbyterian Church, and they happily shared the remainder of her life side by side. Two children were born to this union: Kenton Eugene Harraman and Gina Kay Harraman Davis.

After graduating from high school, Bertha began working in Guthrie, initially at Montgomery Ward and then the Pugh-Cobb Ford dealership. Around 1970 she began working in the Guthrie office of Oklahoma Gas & Electric and she spent the remainder of her career at OG&E. Bertha was a people person and, in her job, she met and established friendships with a great many co-workers and customers. In the mid-1980s she was transferred to the Oklahoma City office of OG&E where she worked until she retired in the late-1990s as a Customer Service Supervisor.

Bertha was a member of the Guthrie First United Presbyterian Church for the entirety of her adult life. As a young adult, Bertha enjoyed playing on an all-women's softball team with her mother and sister for several years while they fellowshipped, competed, and visited many towns in Oklahoma. She had many interests during her lifetime including playing cards, woodworking, crafts, going to the lake and camping with family and friends. However, her greatest passion was her family, nieces and nephews, and especially her six grandchildren. She traveled many miles and spent countless hours attending grandchildren's sporting events and other activities as their most loyal, and "slightly" biased, supporter.

Bertha was an exceptionally loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was a great cook, and she tirelessly used that talent to shower love on her family. Her grandkids soon learned that "Granny B's" kitchen was always open and the menu consisted of whatever their heart desired.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Norma Ruth Shipman and her sister, Patsy Kay Shipman Mahar and survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Cynthia Shipman. She is also survived by her husband of over 62 years, Eugene Harraman; son, Kenny Harraman and wife, Jennifer of Edmond; daughter, Gina Davis and husband, Kenny of Guthrie; grandchildren, Preston Harraman and wife, Jessica, Andrea Harraman, Jill Davis Haven and husband, Bray, Luke Davis, Beau Davis and wife, Lexie, Cal Davis and wife, Sierra, as well as four great-grandchildren, Theo Harraman, Baker and Brooks Davis, and Scottie Haven.
