Rick Allen Byers, a cherished resident of Rensselaer, IN, passed away on January 30, 2024, at the age of 66. Born in Ft. Smith, AR, on February 26, 1957, he was the beloved son of Cecil (Mary) Byers and Ruth nee Golden (John) Havens.

Rick married the love of his life, Kimberly K. Herre, on January 14, 1977, and she survives him. He attended Rensselaer Central High School and later graduated from Ivy Tech with a degree in Metallurgy. Rick dedicated his professional life to Monon Trailer, and as the owner-operator of Rick's Custom Arrows and Bait Shop, as well as Byers Trucking. He eventually retired as a skilled welder at Cives Steel Company.

Known for his passion for the outdoors, Rick found joy in hunting, fishing, and archery. Above all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kim, and their children, Stefanie (Randy) Lane and Heather (Joe) Hayes, all of Rensselaer, IN. Rick's memory will also live on through his grandchildren: Cody Williams, Maggie Hayes, Linkin Hayes, and Lanie Lane. He is further survived by his sister, Jean (Davis) Woods of Germantown, TN, stepsister, Pam (Mike) Davis of Rensselaer, IN, and stepbrother, Randy (Lynn) Simmermon of Bella Vista, AR.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, stepparents, and stepbrother, Dick Simmermon.
