Born January 10, 1947 in Pekin, he was the son of Daniel Franklin and Gracie Irene (Hunt) Ashby.
Surviving are one son, Billy Ashby, Jr. of Pekin; and two brothers, Tommy Ashby and Guy Ashby, both of Rantoul.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Florence Karnes; one grandson, Joshua Jay Ashby and two brothers, Frank Ashby and Denver Ashby.
Billy retired from Evonik in Mapleton, where he was a forklift driver and later worked as a custodian.
He enjoyed working out, riding motorcycles and gambling.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
