From Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home:

Glenn Allan Uecker, son, brother, husband, Dad, Pop, Paw Paw of Boerne, Texas, passed away on January 26, 2024, in San Antonio, at the age of 90. He was born on March 9, 1933, in Boerne to Albert and Hulda (Scheel) Uecker. He married Carolyn (Gombert) Uecker on November 24, 1956. They were married almost 60 years until Carolyn's passing in 2016.

Glenn graduated from Boerne High School in 1950 and served in the Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He also played baseball for the Boerne White Sox and participated in the South Texas All-Star Baseball Team. He even had the honor of being selected to play in the Hearst All-Star Sandlot Classic in New York. Before his military service, Glenn played two years of baseball for the Minor League Abbeyville Athletics in Abbeyville, Louisiana. He continued his love for sports by coaching Little League and Pony League teams for many years. Glenn also enjoyed playing softball and was an active supporter of his children and grandchildren in their various sports, theater, and band activities. Glenn and Carolyn also hosted many foreign exchange students through the Boerne Rotary Club, while their children were in school and some of those students keep in touch to this day.

Glenn held several civil service jobs before starting his own business, Uecker Electric, and later did contract work for GVTC. Finally, he was the Master Electrician for the Boerne Independent School District Maintenance Department until he retired at 82 years old.

Glenn was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church of Boerne and participated in the Walk to Emmaus and volunteering for Wednesday night suppers at the church.

In recent years, he found joy in continuing to play chicken foot and meeting for coffee on Sundays with his and Carolyn's friends – the Craveys, O'Biedos, Smiths and Schachts. Also, he enjoyed meeting with John McCammon for breakfast and driving around the Hill Country.

Glenn is survived by his children: Glynis Uecker of Boerne, TX; Claudia Miller and husband Mike of Leander, TX; John Uecker and wife Angela of Boerne, TX; Joan Uecker and Crissy Poulis of Boerne. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Sarah Klein and husband Kurtis; Joel Miller and wife Hannah; Cailin Uecker, Raine Uecker and Willa Uecker. Additionally, he is survived by his brother-in-law, Bob Gombert and wife Jeannie; sister-in-law, Alice Plummer and husband George; brother-in-law, Gary Gombert; sister-in-law, Candy Gombert; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
