James Clint Brogdon, Jr., age 77, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January
22, 2024, peacefully at his residence. He was born in Bryson City, NC, a son of the late James
Clint Brogdon, Sr. and Macie Ann Crain Brogdon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Deborah Ammons Brogdon and a step-daughter Angela Renee Savage.
He had worked in the Grocery business for 30+ years as a General Manager. He worked for
Publix and White's in Elizabethton where he was known and loved by the whole community. He
loved fishing, classic cars, his family, his two dogs Loco and Cisco who were his babies, and
anyone he ever met. James, Jimbo, or "Bo" as he was known to many, was a kind person and
never met a stranger. James was a Veteran of the US Navy serving from 1965 to 1969 as a flight
deck mechanic. He was a survivor of the fire aboard the USS Enterprise that occurred on January 14th 1969 off the coast of Hawaii after returning from Vietnam. James was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a true Christian in every sense of the word. He loved the Lord and knew beyond any shadow of a doubt that he would one day be rejoicing in Heaven!
He is survived by his ex-wife, mother of his children, and close friend Jayne Brogdon, one
daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Farmer and husband Scott; one son, Andrew (Andy) Brogdon
and partner Jennifer Cohen; one step-daughter Laura Woodby; one step-son-in-law Andy
Savage, eight grandchildren; Cara White, Alex White, Dylan Brogdon, Andrew (Drew) Brogdon,
Ariah Cohen, Cassidy Farmer, Bradley Farmer, Daniel Farmer and wife Christina, a two-week
old great-granddaughter Norma-Jeanne Farmer, and 5 step-grandchildren Joshua Woodby, Andy
Humphrey, Felicia Humphrey, Matthew Savage, and Emily Savage.
Committal Service and Inurnment will be held Monday, January 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Garden of Peace at Monte Vista Memorial Park with Pastor Pete Tackett officiating. Military honors will be rendered by members of the Boone Dam VFW Post #4933 Honor Guard and members of the Navy Honor Guard.
