He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Cindy Thompson, granddaughters Allyssia, Azelyn and Alexis Thompson, ex-wife Betty Thomson and ex-wife Peggy Thompson.
David spent his early childhood in Texas in Tyler and Palestine, before his family moved to Baytown. He graduated from Baytown's Robert E Lee High School in 1959. He moved out of Texas for work opportunities starting in 1968; first to Oklahoma and then later to California where he worked until he retired. David loved his family, his ranch, horses and dogs. He spent the last years of his life with his best friend Peggy Thompson.
